What are we doing?
"Telling the Story… Touching the Future” is the theme of a three-year capital funds campaign that is designed to allow First Baptist North Spartanburg the privilege of enhancing our ministry opportunities with some important construction and renovation projects. The campaign will be launched on Sunday, October 7, 2007 when our entire congregation is officially informed about this exciting effort. This initial phase will culminate November 4th on “Commitment Sunday” as each member of our church family makes a personal faith commitment. We have recruited a leadership team that will spearhead the process in our church.
Why are we doing this?
We are poised and ready to capture a thrilling opportunity to enhance and expand our ability to better tell the story in all parts of the world and among all generations of people. Our campaign will provide needed financial resources for the following new additions, expansions and updates:
- Youth Ministry Center. This structure will serve as a ministry training facility to assist our young students in becoming better prepared to impact their world for Jesus Christ. It will have meeting spaces with a seating capacity of 500 for High School students, 150 for Junior High Students and another 150 for our College students.
- Preschool and Children’s Ministry Focus. Our capital campaign includes plans to renovate and expand vital space that will provide exciting worship experiences for our younger ones.
- Worship Center Technological Enhancements. Since our culture is increasingly technologically responsive, a portion of our campaign seeks to enhance the worship experience with tools that will enrich, encourage, and challenge us all, especially those who need a meaningful relationship with the living Christ.
- Interactive Missions Center. This interactive center will allow every person to be personally involved and to explore ministries opportunities here and around the world.
